ABS Launches First Lean Report

Julie Davies, Head of Research and Executive Development at ABS applauded the publication of the findings and said:

“Recent research has shown that it is still early days regarding the implementation of Lean in Higher Education.  However, it has also shown that the appetite, potential and opportunity for Lean is mainly untapped, with many individuals recognising that the need to deliver more efficiency and effective services to both students and academics is critical”.

WBS Signs Up to Deliver Training to Develop Future Police Leaders

Following a rigorous tendering process the National Policing Improvement Agency selected Warwick Business School to jointly prepare and develop its programme for future police leaders. 

83 delegates joined the programme in the first cohort which includes a postgraduate diploma qualification, job placements and the opportunity to progress to a masters qualification.

Warwick Business School to Invest £20 million

Work will begin early in 2009 and when completed in 2010 will reach across four storeys. The latest phase will provide state of the art teaching and study facilities, including lecture theatres, syndicate and seminar rooms, as well as additional teaching and office space alongside social amenities and a cafeteria for staff and students.

WBS Announces Global Energy MBA

Meeting the world's demand for energy is an increasing challenge as traditional sources reach maturity and new alternatives must fill the gap.  Who will take what role is becoming more complex as many national energy companies seek a greater involvement.  On top of that, the industry must be central to addressing concerns about climate change.  A recent example of the challenges the industry faces is the UK's aim for an 80% reduction in its carbon footprint by the middle of the century, announced by Ed Miliband, the UK Climate Change and Energy Secretary.

Warwick Diploma Goes Abroad!

Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in January between the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and WBS, the Diploma is to be launched at the end of March.
