Sheffield Hallam University appoints new PVC Dean

Professor Hopgood is currently Dean of the Faculty of Technology at De Montfort University, and also has responsibility for the University's international strategy. He joined De Montfort in June 2007, having previously worked for Nottingham Trent University and the Open University. His industrial experience includes work with Telstra Research Laboratories in Melbourne, Australia and Systems Designers plc (now part of Hewlett-Packard).

Business School Students Help Market Local Businesses

Students from Newcastle University Business School have undertaken real-life marketing consultancy projects with businesses, charities and organisations across the region as part of the final stages of their Marketing and Management undergraduate degree.

Designed as a practical alternative to a standard dissertation, this project allows the Business School students to put into practice the lessons learnt throughout their time at University by providing free and practical advice on specific marketing briefs to local businesses.

New scholarships benefit business leaders of tomorrow

Three Director's Scholarships worth £10,000 each and five Leadership Scholarships worth £4,000 each will be available from September.
 
The scholarships are available to students applying for a full-time MBA or MBA in International Business. Both programmes are available to applicants from any country.

In addition, the Derek and Maureen Moss Scholarships will sponsor three students taking the MSc in Carbon Finance programme. These scholarships are worth £8,000 each.

Thousands more to benefit from charity after help from Newcastle University Business School

Newcastle University Business School has developed a business plan in conjunction with Newcastle United Foundation to enhance the way the charity helps communities with health and nutrition awareness projects and sports coaching.

The Foundation helped 10,000 people in its first year and 20,000 in its second year – and now thanks to Newcastle University Business School has a programme in place that will allow it to unlock more funding, develop the range of projects it offers and work more closely with other organisations across the region.

Edinburgh Business School Launches Largest MBA Scholarship Programme Across Africa

The African Scholarship Programme is being endorsed by Graça Machel, the renowned international advocate for women and children’s rights and wife of Nelson Mandela, who will attend the launch event in Johannesburg on September 15.

This is believed to be the largest scholarship scheme ever offered by a UK university in Africa, giving 50 full scholarships each year for five years for the Edinburgh Business School distance learning MBA (Master of Business Administration) programme.
