University of Bath to host unique finance research centre

The aim of the centre is to conduct rigorous applied research to identify best practice in the development of finance professionals so that the finance function maximises its contribution to the organisation.

The bidding process saw the University compete against a number of highly ranked academic institutions to secure funding for an initial five-year research programme.

Where is the New Generation of Women Directors?

More worrying is the new information gathered on the next tier of senior personnel. Of the FTSE 100 companies, only 53 companies have women on their executive committee (the senior team chaired by the CEO), 30 have all male committees and the rest do not reveal their senior executive team.  This study demonstrates that the management of female talent requires far more scrutiny and effort.

However, business confidence remains fragile.

Bosses stick their heads in the sand over age laws

Employers are failing to gear up for legislation that will outlaw ageism at work, a special report from the Recruitment Confidence Index has found.

The research into attitudes to age among nearly 1,500 employers found that only just over a third (39%) had introduced age policies at work with a further one in four planning to introduce policies over the next 12 months.
