Farm Businesses To Boost their Chances

Kent Business School at the University of Kent has joined forces with the IGD and the NFU to offer a special marketing course on Wednesday 6 May in Canterbury designed to challenge the way farmers and small food manufacturers look at the food they produce and how it is sold.

What’s more, the NFU has negotiated a 50% discount on the course for its members, bringing the cost down to just £50 for the one-day session.

£100,000 funding is serious business for University research centre

The award to the Centre for Employment, Competitiveness and Growth - one of the key research centres based at the University's Kent Business School - was made by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), as part of the latter's business engagement scheme.

The government-funded scheme provides greater opportunities for academics and researchers to work alongside businesses and to share knowledge and skills, with the aim of improving productivity and efficiency in British businesses.

Creating a new leadership culture of resilient leadership and global awareness that supports the vision for Kent and beyond

The programme, initiated by the Strategic Development Unit at Kent County Council on behalf of the Kent Public Service Board, held its first information session which included testimonials by key partners who explained the reasons for their involvement in the development of this programme. Current delegates forming part of the pilot scheme were also present to talk about their experiences on the programme and the impact it was having on their places of work.
