Professor Todd will be advising the unique Academy of Multi-Unit Leadership at Birmingham City Business School at Birmingham City University.

London School of Economics, Department of Management Joins the Association of Business Schools (ABS)

This brings full membership to 118 UK business schools/schools of management.

Prof.Saul Estrin, Head of the Department of Management, at LSE said:

Also, two other international schools have also been accepted as affiliates:

• Faculty of Business & Enterprise, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne Australia; and

University students most creative in Birmingham

They scooped 17 out of 21 awards  - the most awards gained by any of the city’s universities - in the annual B-Hive competition which celebrates the best in up and coming Marketing, PR, Advertising, Graphic Design and Web Design talent.

The Association of Business Schools in Conjunction with Emerald Publishes The History of UK Business and Management Education

Professor Williams is Emeritus Professor at Cass Business School, City University London.  His publications relate mainly to Human Resources Management (HRM) and organizational development, and more recently to leadership and organisational histories.

Tesco’s Sir Terry Leahy to speak in Birmingham

The head of the supermarket giant has been invited to address an audience of business professionals by Birmingham City University’s Professor D Michael Brown, the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Business Consulting. Sir Terry will be introducing Professor Brown who will be discussing research carried out, in conjunction with Management Today magazine, about corporate reputation. The talk will be taking place on Thursday 10 June, 6-8pm, at Austin Court, near Brindley Place in the city centre.

Ashridge Awarded Degree Awarding Powers

Coinciding with its 50th anniversary as a business school, Ashridge will be awarding its first degrees, including the MBA, in May 2009 at its annual graduation ceremony. Previously, Ashridge qualification programmes were run in partnership with City University and latterly with Middlesex University.
 

University's Building Work Respects Rare Local Ecology

Now, the team of contractors are preparing to leave the site for four months in respect of an embargo on building work because of the breeding season of the endangered fish species Shad. This temporary lull in construction has been built into the schedule of the new campus, which is due to open in 2010.
