Jason proves himself to be one of Chester’s best

Jason Lloyd, 21, from Pembrokeshire, South West Wales, studied for a Business Management BA (Hons) Degree at the University which has given him the foundation he needed to pursue a career in financial services. 

During his course, Jason secured a placement at Innes Reid made possible by the University’s close working relationship with thebestofchester business support organisation which sets up work placements for students with its local business members.

Strengthened Advisory Council Means Business

The Business Advisory Council (BAC) has been strengthened to provide strategic advice on the development, labour supply and training needs of the local economy, to ensure the School remains at the cutting-edge of business education.

Greg Reid, President of Bank of America UK Card Services; Graham Ramsbottom, Managing Director (North West) of the Grosvenor Estate; and Annette Moor, Chief Executive of Chester Cathedral, are just some of the new esteemed business experts who are members of the Council.

Celebrating 10 years of Research

The Research Colloquium, which was held at the University’s Warrington campus, focussed on a wide range of work, from research into the business management practices in the English professional football industry to that into the financial markets and academic theories.

Attracting delegates from across the North-West region, the Colloquium included a keynote presentation from Ossie Jones, Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Liverpool Management School.

Money Supermarket Guru Shares Business Knowledge

Simon Nixon, Founder and Executive Deputy Chairman of price comparison website, moneysupermarket.com, gave a valuable insight into his business achievements during a question and answer session with some of the region’s most prominent businesspeople. An Audience with Simon Nixon was hosted by Chester Business School as it celebrated 10 years of serving the business community.

Cheshire’s top businesses honoured at High Sheriff’s Award for Enterprise

The winners were announced at a special ceremony at the University of Chester last night (Wednesday, March 18).

Founded by a former High Sheriff of Cheshire, David Briggs MBE, in 2006, the Award for Enterprise is judged on ambition, innovation, growth, enterprise, and employee and management development. The entrants are also required to explain the way in which they will ensure their company continues to expand in the future.

High Sheriff’s Award for Enterprise 2008 launches

With thousands of pounds worth of prizes to be won, the winner and two runners-up will be announced at a glittering ceremony in March 2009, at the University of Chester’s Chester campus.
