ABS Welcomes Home Secretary's Speech on Migration

The Governments’ Policy on visa and immigration issues (as highlighted in recent media coverage around London Metropolitan University and the UK Borders Agency (UKBA) have been causing quite a brouhaha  lately in higher education and business school circles, both for academics and students alike.

The parliamentary and police investigations into phone-hacking and corrupt practices involving journalists and their police sources will also call into question the corporate governance of not just News International but its parent, News Corporation.

Cass Business School and Citi announce ground-breaking course

The course’s ten best performing students had the opportunity to take part in an assessment centre from which two students were selected for a six week summer internship with the ECM team at Citi.

The elective, which started in May, was led by Mario Levis, Professor of Finance at Cass and Senior Managing Directors from Citi’s Equity Capital Markets Origination team. It was the first time that Citi have partnered with a business school on a course elective of this kind.

Dr Cable signed the letter confirming that Plymouth University and media partners the Western Morning News could begin the process of funding SME business development in the South West to the tune of £1m.

On a special visit to the University on Thursday, Dr Cable met a number of businesses already working with the institution through its operation of several innovation and incubation centres in Devon and Cornwall as part of the Growth Acceleration and Investment Network (GAIN).
