Higher Education Innovation Funding Granted to Derbyshire Business School

Now months of planning and hard work by the University of Derby's Centre for Enterprise Management (CEM) have paid off.

People who apply successfully to do an entrepreneurial placement will be entitled to funding support of up to ?6,000 each, helping to pay for equipment and other resources as well as advice and mentoring.

Lancaster University Management School has launched a new programme designed to deliver 'joined up' public services across Scotland. The new programme, jointly developed with the Scottish Leadership Foundation, is called Collaborative Leadership for Scotland and is aimed at senior managers and leaders in Scotland's public services.

Business of Branding Launch 2005/06

Following the success of the initial Business of Branding study, a second research project has been launched.

The 2005 Study proved to be the most extensive study of business schools branding ever undertaken.

Almost 9500 respondents completed the on-line study providing a wealth of data to schools to help their communication with different audiences.

The importance of the subject

About the ABS Awards for Business & Management

The annual ABS awards have run for eight years.

The awards recognise the development and calibre of students, at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their newly acquired business skills in practice.

Globally, there are estimated to be over 7000 business schools. Research by GMAC suggests the number of postgraduate business programmes grew by almost 4000 in the decade to 2007. In continental Europe there are over 1200 taught business Masters programmes in English. A search on Google for the words ‘business school’ produce tens of millions of responses.
