Queen’s means business for UK and China

Representatives from Queen’s University Management School will host a major networking forum in London on Tuesday (24 May) to address the role of higher education and entrepreneurship in building science and technology links with the country.

The China Britain Business Council, the China Innovation and Development Association and the British Council are also involved in organising the event.

Sheffield Hallam University appoints new PVC Dean

Professor Hopgood is currently Dean of the Faculty of Technology at De Montfort University, and also has responsibility for the University's international strategy. He joined De Montfort in June 2007, having previously worked for Nottingham Trent University and the Open University. His industrial experience includes work with Telstra Research Laboratories in Melbourne, Australia and Systems Designers plc (now part of Hewlett-Packard).

Sweet success for University of East Anglia students

 The university joined forces with Hotel Chocolat to look for creativity and innovation through its EUREKA business plan competition, with a top prize of an all expenses paid internship at Hotel Chocolat’s Rabot Estate in St Lucia.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students from the university and its Norwich Research Park partners were invited to submit their ideas - from developing scientific research, to not-for-profit social enterprises, eco-friendly inventions, lifestyle businesses or simply new ways of doing old business.
