International Women's Day 2012 - a few facts from the world of business and management
The gender split of students is about 50/50 in Business and Administrative Studies (B&AS), which is a higher proportion of men than the whole sector, but a higher proportion of women than Economics. As with other subjects, a lower proportion of PGR students are women (40%).
27% of full-time and 33% of part-time MBA students are women. This is against 46% for business PGT as a whole (up from 37% since 94/95).
The gender gap continues to close slowly for staff (37% of B&M academic staff are female compared to 28% in 1994/95), but Business & Management is still behind the rest of the sector on this (42% compared to 29% in 1994/95).
