ABS Responds to the BIS Grant Letter to HEFCE

Paul Marshall, Chief Executive responded by saying:

"It is great news that the widespread concerns of the sector regarding the withdrawal of funding for postgraduate students are being listened to.  The ABS looks forward to working alongside side BIS and HEFCE as they take forward plans to assess the impact of the changes on undergraduate student funding on the sustainability of postgraduate study. 

I am concerned that no firm commitment has been made regarding the A-level entry threshold for 2013-14 nor the way in which the core margin will operate.  It is essential for the future stability of all institutions that the AAB policy is not set in stone.  BIS must write to HEFCE to quickly resolve this issue".
