ABS Academic Journal Quality Guide
Announcement (15/12/11)
The Association of Business Schools plans to publish a newly titled Guide to Academic Journal Quality in collaboration with a partner organisation. This will replace The ABS Academic Journal Quality Guide version 4.
Details of a broader consultation process, governance, methodology and publication date are currently being discussed. Details of the new Guide will be announced at the annual ABS research conference, to be held in the British Library on Tuesday 13 March 2012.
Journal Guide 4
The ABS Academic Journal Quality Guide is a hybrid based partly on peer review, partly on statistical information relating to citation, and partly upon editorial judgements followingon from the detailed evaluation of many hundreds of publications over a long period
It provides guides to the range, subject matter and relative quality of journals in which business and management and economics academics might publish the results of their research - empirical and theoretical. The Journals included cover a wide range of disciplines, fields and sub-fields within the social sciences, representing an inclusive approach to what constitutes business and management research.
The ABS Executive Committee has decided that no new version of the ABS Academic Journal Quality Guide will be issued before the REF 2014 results are published.
We are in discussions with the editors and EURAM and will be arriving at a position in January 2012.
The 2009 version 3 can be downloaded in the links following: alphabetical and by subject.
