"In the competitive business environment, I realised that as a manager, my existing qualifications and current business knowledge were not enough to strategically push the company forward. I noticed that UCE offered a facility to study the MBA at Worcester College of Technology which was convenient and fitted in with my working day.

The course is designed to expand your business knowledge and strategic thinking teaching you to use this practically in your everyday workplace as an individual and also part of a team.

"I took my first degree in engineering at Loughborough University. Later in my career, however, I decided to take an MBA. There were two main reasons for this. Firstly, it is a very competitive jobs market and first degrees are fairly common among my peers, the MBA was a great way to differentiate myself and enhance my career progression. Secondly, I was keen to broaden my skills with a business qualification.

Douglas Banning - Managing Director, DLB Pharma

"I did my project with Janssen Pharmaceutica NV, part of Johnson & Johnson, exploring Value Creation in the pharma industry. I split my time between Janssen's HQ in Belgium, and J&J's complex in New Jersey, USA.

It was exciting because it combined theoretical framework with a practical hands-on approach. It really brought together most of the elements studied at WBS. The knowledge I gained through the Practice of Management module, on project management and teamwork, was incredibly useful.
